How to Protect Your Brizy Form with reCAPTCHA

Updated: October 15, 2020

Online forms are one of the spammers’ targets. Without any protection attempt, your online form can be bombarded by spam submissions. The Brizy integration support with reCAPCTCHA allows you to protect your form. No security system is one hundred percent safe, reCAPCTHA is no exception. At least you have tried to protect your form instead of doing nothing. In this article, we will show you how to protect your Brizy form with reCAPTCHA.

There are two types of reCAPTCHA: reCAPTCHA v3 and reCAPTCHA v2. Most online forms use reCAPTCHA v2 as this type requires users to take an action to prove that they are a human instead of a bot. You have probably met this type of reCAPCTHA when attempting to submit a comment to a website. In this example, we will use this type to protect a Brizy form.

Here is how to protect your Brizy form with reCAPTCHA. By the way, you can read our previous article to learn how to create a form in Brizy.

Step 1: Connect your website with reCAPTCHA

First off, visit the reCAPTCHA website and click the Admin Console menu. You will be asked to login with your Google account. Simply login with your Google account.

Register a new website by clicking the plus icon on menu bar.

Enter your site label and select the reCAPTCHA type you want to use. Since we want to use the reCAPTCHA v2, select the reCAPTCHA v2 option and select the type of action you want to use (you can use the top option for an online form). Enter your domain (without HTTP or WWW) and accept the ToS. Click the SUBMIT button.

On the next page, copy the site key and the secret key.

Step 2: Start protecting your form with reCAPTCHA

Again, you can read our article here to learn how to add a form to the page you are creating. In this post, we will go straight to setting the reCAPTCHA integration.

Click the form action button. On the appearing settings bar, click the plug icon.

On the appearing window, click the RECAPTCHA tab followed by the reCAPTCHA icon.

Accept the agreement, paste the site key and the secret key on the respective fields and click the Connect button.

That’s it. Your form is now protected by reCAPTCHA.
