On most WordPress themes, you can customize the header via the Customize menu of WordPress (Appearance -> Customize). From here, you can typically change the site logo, set a navigation menu, change the background color, and so on. Monstroid2 is a bit different. To customize the header, you need to edit the header template using Elementor as Monstroid2 itself is an Elementor-based WordPress theme.
Monstroid2 comes with a library manager. You can access all the templates of the theme parts (header and footer in particular) via this library. You can go to Monstroid2 -> My Library to open the library manager.
How to customize header on Monstroid2
Once you are in the library manager, hover your mouse over the active header template and click the Edit with Elementor link to open the template in the Elementor editor.
Before you start to re-customize the header, first, figure out how many sections used by the header template. You can figure it out on the Elementor’s Navigator feature.
Here are some basic things you might want to edit.
- The header background color
To change the background color of your header, first, activate the section you want to change the background color of. You can activate the section by clicking it on Navigator or by clicking the section handler on the canvas. Once the section is active, switch to the left panel and go to the Style tab. Change the background by clicking the color selector on the Color section under the Background option.
In addition to a solid color, you can also set a gradient color as the background color. You can select the background type by clicking the tabs above the color selector. You can also set a hover color if you want.
Repeat the steps above on other sections if your header template consists of more than one section.
- The navigation menu
Most header templates of Monstroid2 come with a navigation menu. In most cases, each header template uses the main menu on your WordPress. You can change it if you want. To do so, click the menu to activate the widget associated with it. Select your preferred menu from the dropdown menu under the Content tab on the left panel.
- The site logo
To change the website logo on Monstroid2, click the logo to activate the widget associated with it to turn it into an editing mode. Then switch to the left panel and select the image of your logo by clicking the image selector.
One thing to note. Monstroid2 offers no option to resize the image of the logo, so make sure to use an image with the precise size (dimension). You can download the default logo first to figure out its image dimension.
Don’t forget to update the template once you are done re-customizing it to apply the new changes you made.
