What is Bundler? A Brief Intro of the Plugin
We have just briefly mentioned above what Bundler is and what it can do to help you grow your online store.
But, did you even know that WooCommerce has no built-in feature to create quantity breaks and product bundles?
Yes, WooCommerce has no built-in feature to allow you create a product bundle or quantity breaks. The only way to do so in WooCommerce is via a plugin. And Bundler is one of the plugins that you can use for these particular needs.
Creating product bundles itself is a common practice adopted by online shop owners to boost sales volume. They do this by pairing a certain product with a related product — or more — to allow customers to add the products to the shopping cart in a single click.
What About Quantity Breaks?
Creating product bundles is not the only capability that Bundler has, however. As mentioned, the plugin also allows you to create a quantity breaks offer to allow you to boost sales of a specific product by offering a discount for mass purchase (more than one).
With this feature, you can create some offer types to temp prospective buyers, including BOGO (Buy One Get One).
Compared to the similar plugins (we have tested some plugins that have the same functionality as Bundler), Bundler offers way better experience. It is super-duper easy to use, even for those who are new to WooCommerce.
And more importantly, you have a chance to try the experience of working with Bundler without spending a dime as the plugin is released as a freemium product — with the free version available on WordPress.org.
How Bundler Works
We said above. That we have tested some WordPress plugins with the same functionality as Bundler. Most of them offer the same workflow as follows.
To create a new product bundle or quantity breaks, you need to edit the associated product and change the product type from the product editor.
Yes. You need to go to the WooCommerce product editor to create either product bundles or quantity breaks.
From the users’ perspective, the workflow like the one above is a bit confusing because naturally, new users tend to look for a menu item on the WordPress menu panel right after installing a plugin.
If they don’t find the menu item for the thing they want to do after installing a plugin, chances are they will look for another plugin immediately.
From the plugin developers’ perspective, this kind of user experience can decrease the chance for the plugin from being retained. Let alone building loyalty.
Bundler seems to realize the issue above very well.
Instead of requiring users to go to the product editor, the plugin offers a dedicated screen accessible via a dedicated menu item. From this screen, you can create a new product bundle by clicking the Create new bundle button.
The same is true for quantity breaks.
You can go to a dedicated screen — which you can access by clicking the Quantity Breaks menu item — and click the Create new offer button.
This type of workflow is great because, once again, new users tend to look for the menu items brought by the plugin they have just installed.
Users don’t have to click here and there to find a thing they want to achieve after installing the plugin. Bundler is absolutely great in this part.
After creating an offer — be it a product bundle or quantity breaks — you will see a new block beneath the original add-to-cart button belongs to WooCommerce.
If the default look of the block doesn’t match the design scheme of your store, you can tweak the design by setting such things as button color, font family, text color, and so on.
Key Features of Bundler
Quantity Breaks
This feature is super useful if you want to boost sales volume of a particular product on your online store. You can do so by offering discounts for your customers who make bulk purchases.
Yes, you can use this feature to offer volume discounts to your customers.
To access this feature, you can go to Bundler -> Quantity Breaks on your WordPress dashboard.
Creating a new offer is super easy. You can, as mentioned earlier, click the Create new offer button on the upper-right corner. After clicking the button, you will be presented with a screen where you can add the details about your offer. Such as offer name, offer header, discount, and so on.
When creating a new offer, you can set where it to apply. As you can see on the screenshot below:
- All products: The offer will be applied to all products
- Specific products: You can apply the offer to specific product(s)
- Specific collections: You can apply the offer to specific product collection(s)
Also, you can add the quantity of the product you want to add to the offer. If the product has some variations (e.g., color and size), your customers will be able to pick the variation.
To make the quantity breaks offer stand out, you can display the ribbon to grab the attention of your customers. You can set the design of the ribbon from the settings screen (will be covered later).
The quantity breaks feature itself is available on both the free version and the pro version of Bundler. If you use the free version, however, you can only create quantity breaks for simple products.
If you have multiple offers on your store, Bundler allows you to make it easy for you to manage them. From the Quantity Breaks screen, you can bulk select the offers and disable/enable the offers in a single click.
You can also duplicate an existing offer for a quicker new offer creation.
Product Bundle Builder
This is another main feature of Bundler, which is also available on both versions of Bundler.
You can access this feature by going to Bundler -> Bundles on your WordPress dashboard. Simply click the Create new bundle button to add a new product bundle.
Product bundle is a bit different from quantity breaks, by the way.
While the main goal is the same (to boost sales volume), the focus is a bit different.
In product bundle, you boost sales volume by pairing two different products instead of the same product like quantity breaks. Ideally, the products you pair are related between each other.
For instance, if you sell a pair of shoes, you can bundle it with a pair of socks. Or if you sell a laptop, you can pair it with a mouse.
Bundler only allows you to add maximum of two products in a bundle.
The bundled products will have a dedicated block beneath the original add-to-cart button of WooCommerce. This block is only visible on the bundled products. You won’t see this block on other products on your store.
Same as quantity breaks, you can also bulk select product bundles and disable/enable the offers in a single click from the Bundles screen.
Advanced Discount Rules
The main goal of creating both quantity breaks and product bundles is to boost sales volume. You do this by offering a discount to customers who make bulk purchases.
Thus, the ability to add discounts is a crucial feature you need to look when picking a product bundle/quantity breaks plugin.
Bundler is a plugin that offers this feature.
In Bundler, there are two discount types you can add: dynamic and fixed.
- Dynamic discount: The type of discount where you don’t specify the exact amount of discount in dollar (or any currency on your store). Instead, you set the discount in percent.
- Fixed discount: The type of discount where you set an exact amount of the discount. For instance, you can apply the discount of $30 for products in a bundle.
When creating a new offer in Bundler, be it quantity breaks or product bundle, you can set a discount to the products you want to add to the offer.
The ability to add a dynamic discount is especially a great feature if you have an online store that sells multiple products (retailer).
With this feature, you can create a single offer and apply it to multiple products at once, which is great if you want to run a campaign on a big day like Black Friday.
The fixed discount, however, is useful on a certain occasion where you want to boost the sales of a specific product in your store.
Especially for product bundle, you can set a product as a free gift, which is quite useful to ignite the purchase decision of your customers.
Design Control
As mentioned above, Bundler adds an extra block beneath the original add-to-cart button of WooCommerce.
If you don’t like the default look of this block, Bundler allows you to tweak the design. However, the feature is only available on the pro version.
In other words, free version users have no option to change the design of this block.
The ability to change the design of the offer block is crucial enough because for some people, aesthetics matters.
Also, aligning the design of this block with the design of your store delivers a professional nuance.
You can access this feature from the settings screen of Bundler. Simply go to Bundler -> Settings on your WordPress dashboard. Select the offer type you want to tweak the design of and make a little scroll down.
You will find the settings block to tweak the design.
As you can see on the screenshot above, preview is available to allow you monitor the changes in real-time, making the designing process be more enjoyable.
Is Bundler Compatible with WooCommerce Builders?
A WooCommerce Builder refers to a plugin that allows you create custom templates for WooCommerce. Some themes, such as Divi, also comes with a built-in WooCommerce builder, though.
One of the custom templates you can create with a WooCommerce builder plugin is the single product page.
The question is, does the Bundler’s offer block still show up when you create the custom single product page using a WooCommerce builder?
The answer is, yes.
We have tested it on Divi. We created a simple single product page using Divi. As you can see on the screenshot below, the offer blocks still show up. So, there is no compatibility issue between Bundler and WooCommerce builders.
In case you experience an issue with your WooCommerce builder (the offer block doesn’t show up), you can fix it by adding the Bundler shortcodes.
Bundler offers a great documentation page where you can learn how to use the shortcodes.
Bundler Free vs Pro
Since Bundler is released as a freemium product, you can start from the free version before you can upgrade to the pro version to unlock more advanced features. This is a smart move to eliminate the risk of losing your money when the plugin doesn’t work the way you expected.
You can get the free version Bundler on WordPress.org. And since it is available on WordPress.org, you can directly install it via plugin manager without needing to download it first.
While to get the pro version of Bundler, you can go to its official website. The pro version of Bundler starts from $12.99/month.
All core features of Bundler are available on both versions, with some advanced features are only accessible on the pro version.
We have created the following table to make it easy for you to learn the differences between Bundler Free vs Pro:

Conclusion – Is Bundler Worth Buying?
Before writing this post, we have tested some plugins that have similar functionality to Bundler. Most of them offer the same workflow, that is by requiring users to go to the WooCommerce product editor to create a bundle.
Bundler offers a different workflow to other plugins we tested. In a good way.
As we mentioned above, users will naturally look for a menu item on the WordPress menu panel right after installing a new plugin. If they don’t find a menu item to achieve what they expected from a plugin, chances are they will go away and look for another plugin to install.
So, from the users’ perspective, what Bundler offers is better than other plugins.
Bundler is a great plugin not only because it offers a better user experience, but it also offers on-point features to create professional-looking offers. The ability to add a dynamic discount is especially useful to apply an offer to multiple products.
The ability to tweak the design of the offer block, while may looks trivial for some, is worth mentioning. With this feature, you can align the design of the offer block with the design scheme of your store.
Bundler Pros and Cons
No product is perfect, though.
One of the notable downsides of Bundler is that it only allows you to add the maximum of two products on a bundle. Also, there is no option for users to try the pro version of the plugin for free.
It would be great if Bundler allow users to try the Bundler Pro for free by creating an environment on a tool like InstaWP or TasteWP.
Bundler Pros:
- Super easy to use
- Clean interface
- Design control
- Great documentation page
- Free version is available
Bundler Cons:
- Limited to two products per bundle
- No trial for the pro version
If you want to give Bundler a try, we suggest you create a demo product first. Or you can install it on a staging website if your hosting provider offers the feature.
