The method of creating a website with WordPress has shifted a bit these days. In the past, you could only rely on what's offered by your theme to create a WordPress-based website that visually stand out. Today, this method has lost its relevance in some ways as you have now a full control over your website in terms of appearance.

A theme builder plugin allows you to create custom templates for your site parts -- header, footer, archive pages, etc. -- without dealing with code. You can add element you want -- including custom content -- and apply any styling to your liking. In other words, you can create a WordPress website with your own design concept without being limited by what's offered by your theme.
